Types

ADSL:

ADSL is known as an “always-on” connection because it provides a constant connection to the Internet. You simply log into the connection by clicking on your browser as opposed to the traditional dial-in method which requires you to log into your account.

It is just a cheap commercial broadband connection that uses telephone lines to carry data from us to you. ADSL does not use fibre optic cable; it uses a telephone line to connect your business. Although ADSL doesn’t connect via optical cables, don’t let that confuse you to slow internet connection. The lack of fibre optic cables is compensated by a simple cable broadband service.

We offer download speeds up to 17 Mbps and download speeds up to 1 Mbps, and all of our plans offer unlimited data usage with varying contract durations. In addition, our business telephony and broadband offerings offer you an even better value for money, and if you want a faster connection, check out our fibre optic broadband offerings. If you’re a business that just wants to access your email and surf the web without paying a high price, ADSL broadband cable might be ideal for you.

SuperFast Fibre:

Super-fast business broadband refers to any broadband service that offers speeds of 30 Mbps or more. The higher the broadband speed, the faster your files, movies, and games will download.

Higher broadband speeds also mean that more people can be connected to the Internet at the same time without sacrificing speed, which is why you will often refer to this phenomenon as “bandwidth”.

But what does this mean for your business? This means more bandwidth, allowing you to take advantage of today’s technology and get all your employees connected to the internet without any issues also to keep up with and even surpass competitors.

All of our fibre optic business broadband offerings include unlimited broadband as standard, so you can do more and get the most out of your connection.

UltraFast Fibre:

Our ultrafast business broadband solution has 150Mbps or 300Mbps FTTP download bandwidth options with varying contract lengths, allowing your business to take advantage of the latest technology and features to take it to the next level.

And as always, all of our broadband products come with unlimited data and free DDoS (distributed denial of service) protection, so you can relax easy no matter what. Faster than Superfast, this is the fastest Internet we offer for businesses looking for a complete solution for Internet connectivity.

With this type of connection, also known as Fiber to the Premise (FTTP), your data is transmitted directly from the source to your facility over fibre optic cables. The use of these cables means that the Internet is much less affected by environmental factors, which means that the quality does not degrade over distance or time.

Frequently Asked Question

WHAT BROADBAND SPEED DO I NEED?

What broadband speeds do you really need depends on your business requirement and your usage. Faster the speed, faster the file will download and better the quality of the streaming content you will get.

Broadband speeds are usually expressed in Mbps, which stands for “megabits per second”. This refers to the amount of data that can be downloaded (and uploaded) per second.
It is very easy to exclude trades that are faster or slower than what you are looking for. Just get in touch with our telecom experts and they will provide you with the best deals with internet speed and prices.

WHAT ARE THE BEST BROADBAND DEALS IN MY AREA?

The best broadband deals near you will depend on the types of broadband available in your area. Some connection types are more available nationwide than others, so it is worth checking regularly for broadband availability in your area.

For example, if you select an internet provider that offers 150Mbps speed, you may be disappointed to find that your office location is not eligible to get that, you can only get a part of that speed because of those fibre cables and infrastructure which is not available in your postcode location.
If you have fibre broadband connection cables in your postcode location, that can be useful. However, if you only have access to traditional copper phone lines, you may be limited by more commonly available but slower broadband connections.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I’M OUT OF CONTRACT?

If you sign up for AGS Telecommunications for your latest broadband offering, you will automatically receive a completion reminder. If not, don’t worry – call your current internet service provider and ask. They are legally obliged to tell you whether you are still under contract and when your contract will expire.

WHAT'S THE FASTEST BROADBAND SPEED I CAN GET?

Broadband speeds are measured in megabits per second (Mbps) and can be divided into four main categories:

The default and baseline speed is a maximum speed of 17Mbps.
Fast fibre: Maximum speed of 38Mbps to 52Mbps. This is done through more complex plastic threads.
Superfast fibre: 76MB maximum speed. This is the same fibre optic technology as above, only faster.
Ultrafast fibre: Usually at a maximum speed of 300Mbps, but sometimes faster. This is not yet widely used and requires even more complex wiring.
The maximum speed you can get depends on where you live. In general, urban areas offer the fastest speeds.
